There is no question that Stacks Vinyl made a huge impact on the music scene here in Southern California. I remember frequently visiting the Cerritos shop a few years back before Serato wiped out most of the small record stores. So many historic in-stores took place at the shop. The most memorable ones for me were Gangstarr and KRS-One. All the homeys worked there including Abel, C-Los, Breeze, Fabian, Flip and many others. Those days will never come back again.
Fast forward to now and the Stacks crew is still pushing their name forward with the new Stacks TV. Dj Icey Ice and Toquon aka Soul Elevation have been hosting their show here in Long Beach. They've had a great list of guests so far. Last week, Utmos and myself were invited to speak on behalf of the Beat Swap Meet.
